Q How many days before an election can candidates erect posters at the Presidential Election 2018?

  1. Posters are only allowed to be erected for a certain specific time period before an election. This time period is either (a) 30 days before the poll date or (b) from the date the polling day order (or equivalent) for the election has been completed, whichever provides the shorter period of time.

For the presidential election on 26 October 2018, the Presidential election order was signed on 28 August 2018 – 58 days before the polling date and so the 30 day period applies. The posters in the Presidential Election can therefore be displayed from 26 September 2018
